After Move In

If you have ever built a home, you know that it’s never really fully finished at first.  It tends to drag on and on.  We started construction cleaning in March and slowly began moving things in.  Wow – still working on things if you can believe it?  I recently just finished staining some rough sawn left over timber boards we used on the front porch, so we can make them into shutters.  Just finished up the last portion of our landscape design, although that will probably always be a work in progress.  For example, I’ll be spraying a buttermilk mixture into the rock wall soon to grow moss in it, which I will post the results at a later time.  We even had to have the crawl space cleaned out and resealed, after we found out it wasn’t done right in the first place.  Oh yes…good times, lots and lots of good times.  There are always surprises when building a house – most of which are not so good unfortunately – I never did like surprises.  The end result however is worth it and I am always grateful for learning experiences.

It took two and a half months to get phone and internet, which made it slightly hard to blog 🙁 …(I know right).  Then it was my daughters 12th birthday – We took her to Orlando Universal for a week to do the whole Harry Potter thing, along with one day in Legoland.  So many months have gone by, in which time I’ve done a million jillion projects since my last post.  It’s time to get back at it.  So I’ll randomly start with one…

This is an obvious important completed project, since it’s my work area.  I set up a desk area in my creative office studio, by using 4 Ikea cabinets, and a granite slab remnant I purchased for $400 as the top.   I have my printer, computer and wireless Cricut machine, ready to go at my finger tips.  I cannot tell you how hard it was to go that long without internet.  How did we ever survive without it in the past???

Here is another view of it.  You can see one of my wall collages I created.  The light switch was put in the wrong place for my work space room off this area, so I had to make the best of it.  I will show you that space another time.  I am showing about a quarter of my office here.

I will share a lot more of my new office/studio soon.  I have exciting things in the works that I can’t wait to show you.

Have an awesome day –
