Today I wanted to write about my experience attending the ALT summit in SLC. I had the privilege of attending this amazing bloggers conference this June.
Even though I felt a bit intimidated and way too green to even be going, I was super inspired. Being such a new blogger, I am still amazed at the amount of information I was able to learn in just a few days, in spite of all the techie terminology I was not familiar with. 🙂 There were several highlights of this event I wanted to share with you.
First of all – I had to journal each day about all the wonderful information I was learning and keep notes on all the awesome people I was meeting.
Then there were the incredible and generous sponsors – WOW – The silhouette portrait machine I received in the mail as a gift, the day before I flew out. There were other sweet things too that were mailed to us prior to attending from tiny prints, mail chimp etc. Once I arrive and went to registration, there was an unlimited supply of products from The Honest Company decorated all over our conference bathroom area for the taking. Amazing right?
The first class I attended was how to alt summit. I loved this class and it was a perfect way to start the conference. Look at all the cute things they gave us in a paper goodie bag. You can see their hash tags on the first slide I pictured above (www.ruerococo.com & www.theglamoroushousewife.com) Go and check out their blogs – they are too cute!!!
That night was my first Alt summit theme dinner hosted by Gabrielle @DESIGNMOM, cofounder of ALT. LOVE!!! I sat right next to her at dinner. As you can see from our gifts and my accessories for the evening – our theme was YELLOW. The other photo was my dessert – I have never had a dessert like this before – it was heavenly. It was black rice, with a sweet coconut cream sauce, along with a side of cubed mango and a peanut crumble. A-MAZ-ING
Wednesday morning – we had the privilege of hearing from Oh Joy Studio. She was really great. I loved how she outlined for us a timeline, from the beginning of her career as a blogger, till now. That was super insightful to see how she created her brand – Look for her line at Target. The rest of the day was filled with jam-packed workshops. Incredible learning opportunity.
That evening we had another themed dinner. This night’s theme was City Scape – held in a beautiful city park. There were several food trucks you could try different foods, break dancers, graffiti artists and acrobatic artists. What a fun night. I met some really cool fellow female bloggers.
Thursdays highlight was the Martha Stewart Keynote at our lunch. She has always been such an inspiration for me. I was thrilled that I scored a seat at the table front & center of the stage, where the interviewed was conducted. It was something I will never forget. I loved listening to her share serious life lessons, as well as, funny things that made us laugh. Look at Martha taking a photo of us, as I took a photo of her. 🙂
These were some of my favorite slides being shown on either side of the stage. I can only hope I look half as good as she does, when I’m in my 70’s. She’s awesome!

That night’s garden theme party turned out perfect. Between the weather, the gorgeous Grand America Hotel’s courtyard, the photo backdrops/props, all the beautiful bloggers celebrating together, the fabulous flowers and amazing food…I don’t know what else to say. It was a day to remember for sure. Thank you ALT!
