We’re all super busy – Fitting some crafting/girl time in, isn’t easy. This week I am determined to do so. Building our house has taken up so much of my time, that I am finding it extremely difficult to do something fun for me. So I decided, since I have to be at church Wednesday nights for my daughter’s church activities, to meet up with my sisters there for a two-hour craft time. The goal is for each of us to bring a quick fun craft to share and do. For example, my sister Carla is bringing her really cool planner/journals that she makes. I would love to incorporate my journal, with my calendar and to do lists. That would ensure I always have time to document the important aspects of my life, even during the busiest of times. I always use a calendar and to do list.
For my quick project, I decided to share what I like to call a recycle craft. I had seen something on pinterest a while back using post it notes and it sparked an idea to make another version of it. I had some left over packaging material from something I had bought a while back, although I can’t remember what it was now, but I thought I could use it in a future craft. Well, I came up with an idea to go along with what Carla is going to teach. I already have a small container with journaling supplies ready to go for my art journal, so I thought I would make something cute to go with that and incorporate it all together with the calendar/planner/journal book.
I started with one, two-sided sheet of paper. I went with the orange one, even though I absolutely love the bird glitter paper. It’s design wouldn’t quite fit properly. Here you can see the thick card stock/board left over packaging as well. I just placed it on top of the paper, traced it with a pencil and cut it out.
Here you can see the cut out, along with the ink I used to cover up the white edges. Then I just used my adhesive runner to attach it to the cardboard cutout.
Next, I traced the on the other side of the left over sheet of paper and repeated the same process.
Then I just gathered some journal papers and sticky notes I will use to do quick notes on, while completing a journal/calendar entry.
Below is one completed side…
Then flip it over and here’s the other side. Fifteen minutes – Completed. I can’t wait to share it with the girls on Wednesday.
I’ll post all the cute ideas and photos from my “girls night out”, so stay tuned.

Super cute and useful way to upcycle those cardboard things. I have some of those but wasn’t sure what to do with them.
