French Country DIY – Part 2

I have lots of DIY inspiration for you today, in my French Country DIY series – Part 2.  Let’s start off with these adorable and simple homemade tags.  These were made with recycled thin cardboard.  You can decoupage or adhere any type of image – cut outs from a magazine, seed packets, sticker/stamping on paper, etc.  Then just punch a hole and tie scrap ribbons through it.  Use these for book marks, gift giving on packages, homemade food or body product jars, as well as cards. I’m sure you can think of several more uses. IMG_2869

Here is a use for sheet music.  Think of how much fun this would be for a party or event.  You could customize into any shape or decoration.

Below is an easy, quick project using clothes pins.  Just stamp words on top.  I have also glittered, painted and attached cute scrapbook paper.  I use clothes pins a lot when putting together small gifts for teachers, etc – You can use those clear cellophane bags, fill, and fold over.  Then attach a homemade tag, with a clothes pin to seal it.  Again, this is a simple DIY project that you can get super creative with, and customize any way you see fit.

How about this cork board – Can you even stand it?  Take an inexpensive painted frame, and attach cork paper, which can be found at any craft or home improvement store.  Then stencil on top of the cork.  You can display with glass over it, use it as a dry erase, or remove glass and use it as a mini bulletin board for inspiration.  SUPER CUTE RIGHT???

There are several DIY projects pictured here below.  First, look at the fabric scrap tied lamp shade.  Then how awesome is this picket, with the attached jar?  This can be used to display flowers, dispenser for pens, silverware at a party, the list goes on.  I love it.  Last, look at how simple a scrap piece of wood can be altered into art.  So quick, but so chic.

Here are some felt floral clips and hair accessories made from scraps, felt, buttons, etc – displayed on an old shutter 🙂

We’ve all seen this before, but it’s always inspirational to see different looks on the same idea.  Great for an outside porch or garden shed.

Okay… Look at this bent old silverware hook… can it get any cuter?

Another shot of this – So you can see it further away.

There are so many uses for jars.  Isn’t this so summer with the shell embellishment?  I have tons of washed, recycled food jars – Olive, Pickle, mayonnaise jars, you name it.  Don’t ever throw those away!!

I love this tray made by just attaching handles to a picture.  It’s so practical and pretty.

Here is a DIY burlap flower embellished, little craft store bucket.  How cute would this be with cellophane wrapped homemade cookies inside, to give as a thank you gift?

These are two cabinet door fronts that have been painted and sanded.  Just attach a burlap ribbon hanger and a homemade flower, then stencil a quote, name, or message. IMG_2834 IMG_2833

Another great idea for jars – Stencil a burlap ribbon and adhere.  Get creative with this idea. IMG_2832

A garden box made with scrap wood and a recycled broken garden tool handle, attached with a screw from the bottom.  Can you “handle” the cuteness of this idea?  🙂

Last, I love these easy to sew, homemade bags.  Check out the use of old belts for the strap – It’s already sewn.  What a great use for fabrics remnants. IMG_2874
