French Country Design

Todays ‘French Fleur Friday’ post is going to be all about French Country Design…one of my favorite topics.  I can appreciate all types of interior design styles, but French Country reigns supreme for me.  I’m sharing in this video some aspects of what French Country design is, and the basic foundation from which to build, when creating a French Country Home.

I’m posting pictures from my house, which will show an additional representation of what I love about French Country…today’s theme is all about mirrors.

Here are two examples of painted French style mirrors in my ‘hers’ bathroom…so yes it’s okay for it to be girlie.  BTW – the iron hand is my towel holder. 🙂

This mirror is around 4 feet tall.  The pictures don’t seem to show the size of the mirrors.  This one in particular is so heavy, I was afraid it would fall off the wall.  I used a 100 lb capacity hook and wire when hanging it.  I found it in an antiques store located in Landrum, S.C., close to where I live and painted it this color.

Again this mirror is massive…it’s close to 5 feet tall.  I love how baroque it looks.  I have had this mirror for a long time, but it’s a great example of a French styled mirror

This mirror here is an example of how you can purchase a french styled mirror for less.  I found this years ago online, & only spent around $100 for it…Bargain!

Next week I will show French styled light fixtures and lamps.  I promise to take pictures in the daytime.

Have a blessed day…
