Fashion Favorites

Today for Work it Wednesday, I wanted to share a few of my fashion favorite things.  This first image features one of my ultimate favorite pants right now, which is the Harem pant.  First of all, this fabric is so silky and smooth, it feels like you are wearing pajamas…that right there makes it a favorite.  Additionally I feel like the Harem style is flattering on all body types, but make sure not to get the super baggy ones, I don’t think those are flattering on anyone.  I do love how it gathers around the ankle, which looks great with any shoe or boot, and also allows for the display of your shoe.  It doesn’t do to the leg/hips, in terms of proportion, what the skinny pant does though. (Not a fan of the skinny pant, which only flatters one body style, in my opinion).

Next I love the bell sleeve – This is certainly all the rage right now.  It too is flattering on every woman.  The key is to get a sleeve that falls in the right place though.  If it’s too long, although it’s still beautiful, it gets in the way when you are doing stuff like wiping your counters, or washing dishes.  This particular sleeve is a 3/4, so it’s the perfect length, and most definitely is my favorite length on a shirt sleeve.  I purchased it at Chico’s, and the jacket above is Denim & Co.

I love versatile things and that includes my jewelry.  Whenever I can get a piece that has multiple uses, it’s a bonus for me.  The designer on this piece is also a favorite jewelry designer of mine – Her name is Barbara Bixby.  She patented the circle ring you see here, with the solid gold flower…that is her signature.  It actually opens up, so you can add any size pendant or enhancer to her jewelry.  You can also link her necklaces together, like her strands of pearls with a sterling piece like this, etc.  You can purchase her pieces at high-end stores, on her website at www.barbarabixby.com, or you can get some of her pieces from QVC, which is what I would recommend.  Just to give you an idea, she has some pendants on her site similar to this, that sell in the thousands.  This piece I bought as a ‘today’s special value’ on QVC for under $100.  It’s solid sterling, gold, Iolite, pearl, and amethyst.  There were originally 5 different choices, but now I believe the few that are left, are on sale for $79, which is such a bargain!

This is the jewelry I wore today with the outfit above.  Another favorite in jewelry for me is gemstones in general.  I love their meanings and their energy.  Here is Amethyst, Moonstone (ring), Iolite and Pearls(bracelet/pendant).  I will do a post on gemstones and their awesome properties, in the near future.  Every year I learn a little more, and I become even more fascinated by yet another one of Gods creations.

Here is the handbag and shoes I wore…Kate Spade bags are also one of my favorites.  They are reasonably priced when you find them on sale.  I have discovered the best prices usually come from the Kate Spade website itself.  Be sure to register your email with them, and you will receive when they are having the best sales.  I purchased this bag for around $100…It originally retailed for well over $400.  It’s all leather and as always, it is the trimmed with gold-plated hardware.  The quality of the stitching on her bags is always spot on, and I love the amount of space this one has.  I can fit all my purse essentials, which I will do a post on soon, as well as my iPad, and paperwork for the day.  The boots are to die for…seriously…they are so amazingly comfortable and they literally match pretty much everything.  I cannot say enough about these boots, made by LUCKY…which is also one of my favorite words. 🙂

Wishing you a blessed and ‘lucky’ day!
